Dr. Tony Shi and Mason Ma were at the open-house day of Machine Tool Research Center (MTRC) at the new location in TN-MADE (University of Tennessee Manufacturing and Design Enterprise).
We witnessed Gene Haas’s one-million-dollar donation for Dr. Schmitz's legendary academic career in machining dynamics, metrology, machine tools, manufacturing education and workforce development!!!

Behind us is the fancy hybrid manufacturing cell by robotic wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) and milling tool at the original site of Machine Tool Research Center in Doughty Engineering Building at UTK campus.
Dr. Shi was then appointed as an affiliated faculty member of Machine Tool Research Center. Mason and Alisa started to join ME 544 Machining Dynamics course from UTSI.

[August 2020] Shi started his faculty position as an Assistant Professor of Engineering Management at the University of Tennessee Space Institute.
[February 2017] Shi joined the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering as a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
[September 2011] Shi was ranked first in grade in Pure and Applied Mathematics at China University of Geosciences, Beijing, and admitted without examination to Peking University to start his Ph.D. trajectory in Management Science and Engineering.
