The Intelligent Decision and Engineering Analytics for Systems Laboratory (IDEAS Lab), under the direction of Dr. Zhongshun "Tony" Shi, conducts the interdisciplinary research of applied statistics, mathematical optimization, computational geometry, artificial intelligence, systems engineering and simulation, to solve the important decision-making issues of complex systems in science and engineering. The vision of IDEAS Lab is to develop scientific decision and analytics methods for the modeling, inference, design, operations, control, and optimization of complex systems like dynamical systems, discrete event dynamic systems, cyber-physical systems, and scientific experiments. Our work is interdisciplinary in nature, involving close collaborations with experts in physics, chemistry, materials, mechanics, and manufacturing. Efficient digital tools will be developed to serve science, engineering, management and industry.
